This fresh and stylish apartment project designed by Ekaterina Lashmanova is best characterised by its posh, sharp and glamorous appearance.
The refined work of Ekaterina Lashmanova, through an attentive dedication to details, reaches its apogee within this contemporary project, flowing into an inspiring bold apartment in the imposing city of Moscow, Russia.
Behind the inspiration of the talented Russian interior designer is a profound admiration for Portuguese Design – where Boca do Lobo plays a starring role, as it is a pioneer of product design made to break boundaries through aesthetics and bringing handcrafted artistic pieces into people’s lives.
Boca do Lobo always has been fascinated by the reinterpretation of the past through technology and contemporary practice. Because of this, each piece has a unique, timeless character, revealing an attention to the smallest details.
As a matter of fact, the brand’s philosophy lies in combining the work of the best artisans, full of knowledge and experience, with contemporary design, which is a big challenge but also the secret to its success. The Wave Center Table is one of the pieces chosen to complete the luxurious project.
This exuberant centre table is made of wood and finished with manually hammered copper, finished with a curvilinear top made from a black mirror.
For Pepe Leal, interior design is a way to solve a space and the way to solve it is what distinguishes different decorators. He considers himself more an artist than an interior designer since the facet that interests him most of his profession is to move volumes and objects creating sensations. Discover how Boca do Lobo is featured in this project – Lusitano Corner At Casa Décor Madrid.
Spanish Interior Designer Pepe Leal carefully selected Portuguese historic and significant materials so that he would be able to reflect perfectly the Portuguese culture and the kind of furniture that has been made in Portugal, including the Eden center table and Heritage sideboard.
From the ceilings, passing through the walls and floor, until the décor itself, each and every detail came from Portugal in the creation of the Lusitano Corner, Pepe Leal´s most recent design project.
The suspended brass particles of Supernova Chandelier will offer you a timeless, brightest and magnificent setting. Through meticulous foundry work and the finest materials, the brand creates a resilient yet elegant lighting piece.
L’Chandelier is a dreamy, elegant and luxurious lighting piece that is as incomparable and impressive as the romantic Champs-Élysées avenue. The chandelier’s marvellous dancing shape was realised through the antique technique (Repoussé) used widely with gold and silver for fine detailed work.
♣ Metamorphosis Series – Exclusive Interview ♣
The Metamorphosis Series has come to symbolise a new line of thought and design inspiration for Boca do Lobo.
How did you conceive such a bold design concept?
“Metamorphosis Series is more than just a simple line of design. It has a special meaning that has been part of Boca do Lobo’s purpose and creative’s DNA – breaking creative boundaries and being capable of constantly making something better. It’s hard to define what creativity is, but we know for sure that is the creative act, that we become able to manipulate objects or symbols to produce an uncommon definition of art and giving origin to the most bizarre and unique pieces. As I said before “the creative process is something between your past experiences and the things you’ve been through, and your future with everything you can still experience and control”. We believe that the highest kind of creativity is surely that which shatters the clouds of custom, and extends the possibilities of thought and perception. This way, and inspired by a great novel of the 20th Century, written by a phenomenal thinker – Franz Kafka – Metamorphosis digs deep introspection, unknowingly looking for meaning or something to hang on to. This was the word which rung in conversation and thought and has come to symbolize a new line of thought, and design inspiration for Boca do Lobo. This was how Metamorphosis Series was created.”
Metamorphosis Series puts aesthetic standards and the meaning of beauty to test, seeking at the same time to provoke a reaction. What kind of reaction are you trying to instigate?
Insects can be repulsive and can make people think of how different and unique life is by itself. That was the main purpose behind this line of design. By putting aesthetic standards and the meaning of beauty to test, the Metamorphosis series seeks to provoke a questioning within the evolutionary context. I am sure of one thing – emotional design and creating experiences is where we have to work on, and that’s where the main purpose of Metamorphosis lives. By creating a reaction, we are also creating this emotional experience and bringing the design concept back to life.
