“For us, design is the means. The starting points are goals, strategies and expectations, but it transcends them to create a new and better reality. Design is transformative.” This is the Gensler vision. A giant american firm that works on architectural and interior design projects, consulting, branding and much more. Gensler interior design portfolio include many remarkable projects, such as the Facebook headquarters that we show you today with amazing ideas for modern chairs.
Project: Facebook’s new 1+ million-square-foot corporate campus mirrors the company’s philosophy: It’s open, mobile, socially connected, dimensionally aware, culturally relevant and personally sustaining. What was once a collection of discrete buildings in an early ’90s office park is now a dense and dynamic urban environment.
Appearing as a work-in-progress, with plywood ceilings, concrete floors and shop lighting, the headquarters meets a key goal of communicating Facebook’s upstart, scrappy, iterative and creative culture.
The urban inspiration in this project led to the use of many different modern chairs. From plain and simple dining chairs at the cafeteria to rocking chairs at the offices lobbies, this project is mind blowing.
Supporting a critical mix of collaboration and focused work, employees are given a wide variety of spaces in which to work individually or in groups.
The office could be translated to a living and welcoming enviroment where people work. In the main office, a small living room is put next to a dining area with hard wood and metal chairs. The living room has wing back chairs and lounge sofas.
Even in the middle of the offices it is possible to find small louge spaces with upholstered chairs and modern sofas.
To match the modern/industrial style of the office, some metal chairs were used.
Low velvet armchairs creat small chatting spots for Facebook employees.
